Director of Development
Ysrael Quezon (he/siya) is a movement fundraiser serving as EBASE’s Director of Development.
He is born to a strong Filipina immigrant educator, a loving Filipino preacher, and faith communities who have nurtured his endeavors in singing, leadership, and story-telling. He comes from Muntinlupa and Mindoro, Philippines. Immigrating to the Bay Area at 17 led him to experience that communities never run out of passions nor dreams, only champions and resources – setting his trajectory of being a movement fundraiser for working class communities.
Over the past decade, Ysrael has served: at Filipino Advocates for Justice where he grew as a newly arrived immigrant youth to a youth leader, organizer, capacity-builder, and fundraiser; at The California Endowment as an advisor and youth council member to the President & CEO and Board Chair; at the BIZStoop as a grant reviewer and pro-bono fundraising strategist; at Seed the Vote PAC as volunteer field + comms + donor organizer working alongside c4s, PACs, and labor unions in Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Missouri, New York, and California; at California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance as Senior Manager of Strategy & Development overseeing strategy-making and resourcing across program, campaigns, administration, and fundraising to abolish ICE detention centers; at Twin Towers United Methodist Church in Alameda as board chair and back-up Music Director.
Ysrael experiences life’s joys through yoga, dance, kickboxing, singing, hiking along the East Bay and coastal trails, reading poetry, caring for his family’s 4yr old dog ‘Boarnard’, and spending time with loved ones.
