All of us are dependent on frontline, essential service workers like delivery people, grocery clerks, restaurant & hospitality workers, ride-share drivers, janitors, warehouse workers, and security officers to feed us and provide us with what we need to survive. Those workers – who are predominantly people of color – are not only on the front lines of the crisis, but among the hardest hit economically.
This is a moment for us to come together and take care of those who are taking care of the public. It is urgent for our cities to pass immediate policies and take action to protect the health and livelihood of frontline, essential service workers, and therefore, the public.
