Maria Elena Allain

Maria Elena uses her “MacGyvering skills” to lead EBASE’s finance, HR, and daily operations, creating the operational backbone to support and advance EBASE’s economic and racial justice campaigns. Before coming to the Economic & Racial Justice sector, Maria Elena worked in Higher Education for ten years and served on the Executive Board of her bargaining unit for seven years. Her 19+ years of experience in the field and 30+ years as her immigrant family’s administrator has served to shape her view on how a solid foundation can drive an organization forward.

In her 8th year at EBASE, and now part of the management team, she is an experienced and motivated organizational development specialist focused on creating sustainable organizations and working as an advocate and ally of racial, social, and economic justice.

Maria Elena also serves on the Mujeres Unidas board.  When she’s not creating beautiful spreadsheets, Maria Elena spends her time with her dog Gnome Chomsky and her cat, Endora.
